Chris Moore currently serves as Coordinator of Undergraduate Studies, as well as Director of Athletic Bands and Percussion Studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia where he has taught since 1995. In addition, he serves as the Director of Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. He previously served as Assistant Director and Staff Arranger of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Band and Director of Instrumental Music at Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Jacksonville State University and earned a Master of Music degree from East Carolina University.
Moore’s compositions and arrangements have been performed nationally by collegiate, high school and middle school ensembles. Recent collaborations with Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology for robotic musicianship led to performances in Metz, France, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and in Brisbane, Australia. Moore has served as clinician and performer at the Mid West Clinic, PASIC and many international, national and state music conferences. As a performer and producer, Moore has worked with artists such as Gloria Estefan, Kenny Ortega, Travis Tritt, Kenny Chesney, Jennifer Nettles, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, Sean Kingston, Young Guru and KY Engineering.
Mr. Moore’s research interests are in 3D audio environments, music production and performance technologies.
He has served as percussion and arranging consultant to Wynton Marsalis on works for the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. Moore is the former Director of the Atlanta Falcons Drumline and House Band, and the Atlanta Braves House Band.
Mr. Moore is a Pearl/Adams, Sabian, REMO and Innovative Percussion artist.
